Pride Festival of Central PA
P.O. Box 4213
Harrisburg, PA 17111
Dear Mr. Martin,
The City of Harrisburg welcomes all those who have come to enjoy the Pride Festival of Central PA. Any event that encourages mutual respect and human understanding is of great value to our community and we all share in the celebration of human dignity.
It is for this reason I am especially pleased to welcome and recognize those who come to enjoy the festival in celebration of the struggle for equal rights under law.
I know too well that discrimination and intolerance can undermine guaranteed civil liberties we all have worked so hard to achieve in our nation. I also know that one can not stand against SOME forms of discrimination without standing against ALL forms of discrimination.
We all have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and as the Mayor of the City of Harrisburg I will not deny these rights.
In the spirit of love and respect we all must seek peace as we work, play, live and desire to see this great Capital City move forward.
With very best wishes,
Linda D. Thompson
Mayor
